Add Patients and Scheduling (2 hours)
This class demonstrates how to add patients. It also describes all the components of a patient chart, including adding demographics, insurance, history, vital signs and multimedia. It will also demonstrate how to set up the Scheduler, including creating new appointment types and blocking times. It will also describe how to add appointments, reschedule appointments, print schedules and find appointments.

This class demonstrates how to create a note using Templates, Previous Encounters or through the Superbill method in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition. This class will also provide a detailed description of the Encounter screen.

This class will demonstrate how to meet each of the Core and Menu set requirements of Meaningful Use using TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition.  It will also explain how to run the reports needed to attest with CMS.

Templates
Microsoft Word templates can easily be imported into TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition and used for charting within the program with a few minor modifications. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition also includes hundreds of podiatry-specific templates ranging from complete office visits, like fungal nail care, to individual exams, like dorsalis pedis pulses. This method is best used for common, routine visits like fungal nail care and post-op visits where the same questions are asked over and over. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s fill-in-the-blank method is much like using a word processor and web browser together. While creating the note, you may type anywhere at any time. In addition, questions (fill-in-the-blanks) may appear throughout your note waiting to be answered. These questions appear as hyperlinks much like they would in Internet Explorer. However, when you click one of these hyperlinks, instead of going to a web page, the question appears to the right as a list of possible answers. You may answer the questions using a pen, keyboard, mouse, or your voice (i.e. ONE, OK). Quickly answer all questions in a single template!

Online Template Library
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition includes access to its online template library with access to templates that are created by other TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition customers. Users are welcome to download these templates, free of charge, and modify them for database use.

Electronic Superbill
Many doctors prefer to circle codes on a paper charge slip (superbill) between patients and then finish their notes later using these superbills as a reference. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition allows doctors to recreate superbills electronically. Once finished, send the chosen codes to the billing program for processing.  A skeleton note is then generated using templates associated with each code. This method reduces steps over the paper alternative; it allows doctors to quickly move from room to room without being forced to finish each note one at a time.

Previous Encounter
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition allows you to create a new note from an old note. This simple method carries forward the treatment and diagnoses codes, diagnoses pointers and modifiers and enables you to then make changes and save the note as a new record.

Embedded Transcription
Unlike standard dictation/transcription, the Embedded Transcription feature allows users to dictate only the parts of a note that are difficult to complete using a computer. For example, a doctor might use a pen tablet to check off the exam findings, diagnoses, and treatments and then dictate the remaining narrative text for the subjective section of the note. As a result, you pay to transcribe a paragraph rather than an entire note. Throughout the entire process, we track who did what and when. As a result, you can click on any dictation to see who created it, when it was sent, when it was transcribed, and when you received it. Unlike automated voice recognition software, a recorded voice file is sent to a real human being for transcription.

 

Assembler
The Assembler presents a patient's medical history in an easy-to-read hierarchical tree. Objective, Assessment, and Plan findings are added to each complaint branch like leaves. Creating notes becomes a simple process; just snapshot the current tree view as a SOAP note or History and Physical. Also, by using a tree view to generate a note rather than a template or previous note, your medical records will no longer appear "canned". This allows focus to move to managing the patient rather than their records. In addition, various items within the patient history may be red flagged as unresolved so that next visit you can quickly pick up where you left off with respect to pending items.

Prescriptions
Prescriptions can be created within TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition as a standalone task or as part of a note. Once created, a prescription may be printed or sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.

Referral Letters
Referral letters can be created within TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition as a standalone task or as part of a note. Once created, a referral letter may be printed, faxed or e-mailed. If printed, an envelope is printed as well as the associated note. If faxed, the associated note is included. And, if e-mailed, the note is sent as an attachment.

Built-In Spell Checker
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition features a built-in spell checker for an electronic health record.

Batch Print Encounters
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition provides a batch printing option to simplify printing encounters (notes) at the end of the day to stuff into paper charts

Appointments
Patient appointments can be scheduled by provider and are displayed in a convenient day view or week view. Users can create custom appointment types for different types of visits and even set a default appointment length. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition Scheduler also allows users to block off times that are not open. Rescheduling takes just one click.

Patient Tracking
The Scheduler in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition tracks where a patient is in the office at all times. Notes show when the patient is checked in, assigned to a room, checked out, charted, missed their appointment or cancelled their appointment. You can view this information in list view for all patients for a specific day or by running specific reports.

Seamless Integration
From the Scheduler in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition one click opens a patient’s chart and patient alerts and comments. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s Scheduler will also alert the user if if an appointment is created for a patient who has exceeded their referral authorizations.

Recall Lists
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s Recall Lists allow easy and automatic generation of lists of patients for specific facilities who need to be seen.

Electronic Prescriptions
Prescriptions can be created within TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition as a standalone task or as part of a note. Once created, a prescription may be printed or sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice.

Electronic prescribing offers the ability to create new electronic prescriptions, respond electronically to refill requests and instantly verify prescription benefits.

TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s electronic prescription writing feature also enables easy look-up of patient medication history, drug formulary and therapeutic alternative lists as well as alerts the user to drug-to-drug and drug-allergy interactions.

Patient Insurance
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition helps to document and manage patient insurance information. This data can be accessed at anytime and exported to a billing service with your superbill information.

Superbill Generation
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition allows users to generate a bill for an encounter that includes treatment and diagnoses codes, diagnoses pointers and modifiers.

Exporting Billing Information
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition has a built in report that allows users to generate a consolidated superbill report which can be emailed, faxed, or mailed via postal service to your billing service. You can also export your superbill information to a standard XML document, which can be imported into other programs or billing services.

Claim Entry
Billing and charting are seamlessly linked in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition, eliminating extra data entry. The biller doesn’t have to re-enter any information. They simply open the encounter, review the already present information and add any necessary modifiers and diagnoses pointers.

Interactive CMS 1500 Form
Embedded in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition software is the ability to view a claim information on top of an existing CMS-1500 form. Billers can click on most any field on the Interactive CMS-1500 Form and make real-time changes to the database.

Claim Wizard
The Claim Wizard in TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition is used to split off charges that need to be sent to different destinations. This means that the charges on a single claim can be split and sent to two separate primary insurance providers.

Claim Checker
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s claim checker looks for missing information that might cause a claim to get rejected. This information may include missing patient information, provider information, facility information and even missing diagnoses pointers.

Claim Submission
Through our partnership with Gateway EDI, we are able to send both primary and secondary claims electronically. You can even send your paper claims to Gateway electronically and they will print them to paper and mail them to the insurance company for you. Patient Statements

Because TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition preloads products from the major podiatric suppliers, there is no need to manually enter thousands of products into your database. Simply scan a barcode or lookup the item by part number or description. TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition allows users to add all products that are low in inventory to a vendor order in a single step and send via mail, fax or email.

Receiving
Receiving items from a vendor is as easy as scanning the barcode. If all items have arrived, use TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s convenient "Check All" option, which will quickly check-in the entire order at once. If the items you are receiving do not have barcode labels, you can automatically generate labels for each product.To print your own labels, you will need to purchase one of our recommended label printers. To scan barcodes, you will also need to purchase a USB or keyboard wedge barcode scanner.

Dispensing
Within TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition, it’s fast and easy to dispense a product by scanning the product's barcode into your note. Doing so will document that the item has been dispensed and will remove the item from inventory. In addition, if the product's remaining quantity drops below your preset minimum level, the product will automatically be flagged for reordering.

Reports
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition includes a number of pre-built reports to help manage your practice. These reports cover everything from missed appointments to our time clock report for employee payroll.

SQL Queries
In addition to pre-built reports, users may create or run custom reports using an SQL Query Window. Users can view, print, email, or export the resulting data to Microsoft Excel.

Patient Query
TRAKnet PM - DPM Edition’s Patient Query tool allows the user to specify a number of specific filters to generate a truly custom report surrounding applicable patient information. This information can be viewed, printed, emailed, or exported to Microsoft Excel.
